Email services which are not web based?
Greetings! I need to have an email address without the free web based one. Is there anyway I can get it? Do ISPs give away the email addresses which may involve a reasonable amount of money? Or can anyone suggest where I can open an email address which will not be webbased? I need to pursue to places where they block webbased email addresses. Any help?!

- Don't know in what country you are, but in most of Europe and all of the USA, your ISP provides one or more free e-mail addresses that you can access with Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird. Block web based email addresses?? Where are you going to? Cuba, North Korea???? They are about the only places I know where the internet is censored.
- From what he is asking, it seems he is more worried about the security of the mails. A non web based one would allow a tad more security in that sense. The other fellow is right, your ISP generally offers you a non-web based account but generally its meager pickings. Now you have to keep in mind if you want your email account accessed on other computers it needs to be web bassed, otherwise your stuck to one system. Anyway here is an article on how to build your own email server http://www.tech2all.com/2006/03/12/how-to-setup-your-own-e-mail-server/
