Applied for a job with usps, job status went from hiring list to selection list, what does that mean?

Have took the 473 exam and passed, just wondering what selection list means on job status.

1. The hiring list is basically made up of everyone that passed the test. The selection list is made up of those that scored well enough to be in the pool for actual hiring. Look at it this way. Say 100 people took the test and 50 passed. They wish to hire 10 people. 50 people will be on the hiring list, but only 10 will be on a selection list. That could be based solely on score, or could also include Veterans Preference eligible people.
