How do I apply for a job with the post office? Also if I want to apply for Postal Inspector ?

I am looking for a position in the post office. I would like to work inside at a post office. I also would like to be a Postal inspector but I was told you can not be over 40 years old. I thought that was age discrimination? Is this true or can you be in your mid 40' s. Could you please tell me how to go about this.

1. Check on the US Postal Service website, as far as I know they are not hiring!
2. you have to find a vacancy first Why not visit their website and see their employment section and this should give you the details you need
3. You turn in your application at the nearest Post Office. When they have an opening, they will give a civil service exam. The person who rates highest on the exam will be hired.
