Postal Letter

Postal Exam 473E average score?

I just got my Notice of Results for USPS Exam 473E. I got an 84.6 score. How is this going to look for employment? I am also an Iraq war veteran and am eligible for an additional 5 points for my score. What are my chances of getting a postal job? Thanks in advance! Eh, that's what I thought. But why is the USPS still testing if they project that many displaced workers? Seems like a waste of a contract testing facility to me, IMO. I'm currently federal civil service in a career/career conditional appointment in the DoD and was looking to make the move to USPS for the mobility, seeing that USPS is represented in even the smallest communities, something DoD can't say. I want to go home to northern New England. I've been away for almost 4 years and was looking for some hope :(

  1. Considering that the USPS is considering closing 3700 offices, it's not looking very good right now. If they're closed, about 20,000 workers will have to be placed in some of the positions that were to be filled by PSEs (Postal Support Employees).
  2. for the post office in trenton nj... cut off score to be considered for the job that ive applied for was 80.25... i missed by .25 :'( i heard that this new test is harder than the older ones(i guess because its impossible to cheat lol) so i think you did very well :)
