What is fedex smartpost and can my package come today?

I got a package shipped from amazon and at first it's estimated delivery was 29-30. Now it is the 30th, and there is nothing in the mail. Yesterday it arrived only 40 miles away at 5pm, it says it is at "FedEx smartpost" even though it was shipped by usps. Does that mean fedex will be delivering the package and it still may come today, or do I have to wait and get it Monday? Thanks.

1. Looks like Monday. Fedex only delivers overnight pieces on Saturday.
2. SmartPost packages are handled by FedEx until the final delivery which is made by USPS. It will most likely come on Monday or Tuesday.
3. You should see a scan at some point that says something like Fedex delivered package to USPS facility. At that point the post office will have your package and they will then make the final delivery.
