Can you still retrieve your mail once you put it into a federal postal office box?
I forgot to put a return address on a letter and what to get my letter back so I can put an address on it. Would the postman who pickups the mail at this box allow me to get my letter back or it's against the law?

- Against the law.
- If you can be there at the time they pick up and have a photo ID they can legally do so.}{
- Some people weigh up the circumstances and decide yes others decide No! This is one of those occasions. Legally once you have posted that letter it becomes the property of the P.O. until it is delivered.So the answer is no.But you might just catch the postee in a very good mood after winning Ten Million on the lottery or they have just heard that the Republicans and the Government have just reached agreement over the finance budget. No longer will our house be divided for Six months or so. G.B.A.
- no the letter has to go to where its addressed why don't you write another letter now explaining that you made a mistake and pop it into the box so they get both letters at the same time even with ID if there is no return address on the letter how does the mail man know its your letter and for him to open or let you open a letter would be an offence
- It's up to the carrier. If you ask nicely and they're not too busy then sure.
