Can USPS Priority Mail be delivered after the regular mail is delivered?

My friend had sent me a package (box) on the third of this month via USPS Priority Mail. It hasnt come today with my regular mail, is it possible that it can come later today? If so, by what time? Thanks!! Its being shipped from California to New York.
