What type of job with FedEx or UPS is entry level?

I am currently a mail handler for my unit in the military. I want my experience to transfer over to the civilian world. Can any FedEx or UPS employees tell me what is an entry level position I should apply for when I get closer to leaving the Service?

  1. warehouse?
  2. At UPS you would be required to work in the warehouse before you could be made a route driver. The drivers are company employees and have benefits. At FedEx "package handler" would probably be the entry level position. Express drivers are company employees and have benefits. Ground and Home Delivery are contractors or the employees of contractors. Many contractors are unable to provide benefits to their employees. You are required to have - for any FedEx driving job - six months of verifiable commercial driving experience within the past three years. Good luck, and thank you for your service!
