if i layed a refrigerator on its side in my van for only, 2 miles (pick up and delivery) would it still work?
A friend of mine is trying to tell me that it won't workm again and i think it will? Can someone please tell me who's right, my friend or I? Thank you!

- I have laid them down a few times with no problem. But I didn't plug them in for a few hours later.
- Sometimes. It depends on the fridge. For such a short time as you are talking about, it will almost certainly be fine. You should note the configuration of the tubes on the back first though. Deciding whether to lay it on the right or left side can make a difference. You should also let it sit for several (maybe 3 minimum) hours before starting it up again. Look at the website listed below for hints about which side to lay it down on.
- I wouldn't do it your taking a chance.
- When one put a refrigerator on its side, it allows the liquid freon to enter the condenser. when placed upright, the freon returns to the compressor after a period of time. I have moved many refers and by waiting an hour or two before starting, I have never had any problems
- It should not be plugged in for 24 to 48 hours. The oil drained out of the compressor when it was lying down. Plugging it up too soon will burn the compressor up.
- how ever long it was on it's side it needs to be upright before plugging in, better to wait 24 hours if you can... if you can see the compressor in the back, it will have 1 line on one side and 2 lines coming out of the compressor on the other side, I forget what the proper name of the line of concern is, but try to move it with the side with 2 lines are above the compressor
