Can ANYONE work for the US Postal Service?

I saw an ad that said they are hiring for different positions. I'm desperately trying to get a job, and was wondering if I could work at the post office doing something, besides mailman/woman. You see, I'm a 19 year old girl... is it weird for someone my age to work at a place like that? I'm just thinking that I shouldn't bother looking into it because they're not searching for someone my age... What do you think? What are my options for working there?(ex: mail sorter, etc...) If anyone has experience working at a post office, please share! Thanks!!

3. The ad you saw is most likely one of the companies that charges you a fee. The US Postal Service is cutting back and may not even be hiring in your area. Not everyone who applies to work for the US Postal Service is hired. You can check out career opportunities at usps.com.
