Postal Letter

Why is the United States Postal Service wasting money on TV commercials?

I mean seriously they're going out of business and they're spending millions or whatever on these TV commercials. And they come to ur house every day so its not like people are just finding out about them. And i know they're advertising "if it fits it ships" but i think everyone got it by now so maybe they should focus on saving money instead of doing commercials. And maybe the mailman could tell people that if it fits it ships when he delivers the mail or they could tell u about it every time u go to the post office im sure the word would get around for free. JEEZ! and is that guy in the commercials even a real mail man and how much are they paying him?

Public Comments

  1. shows you don't pat attention.
  2. tv stations have to donate a portion of their commercial time
  3. USPS thanks to unions, will soon not be with us. Every year Congress is forced to bailout it out due to uncontrolled union wages/benefits and every year USPS keeps racking more and more debt because of Union greed. It simply cannot compete. USPS is dying and it is Unions who are killing it. The USPS needs to free itself of the Unions to save itself.
  4. You obviously did not hear what the commercials are saying. They aren't taking your precious tax money, so get over it.
  5. So you think you know how to run a successful enterprise, eh? Cut the marketing costs? Teens know everything, dont they..

  7. I ask the same question when I see that Kardashians in People magazine. But my reasons for asking make more sense then yours do.
  8. they are trying to educate the ignorant (that means you) about what a 2006 republican house mandate to fund pensions 75 years in advance has done to drive them to the brink bankruptcy... because Darrell Issa (R) want to privatize it and reward his buddies with a fat new market to plunder.. that is how republicans role. BTW- the post office does not get one dime in federal tax dollars and would be solvent if the republican congress hadn't strapped them with this unreasonable regulation...
  9. Yeah I hope they go under and go away. That way when I order something from ebay, it'll take 3 weeks for a private, inexperienced company to give me my package. Probably at super high costs too, since it takes three weeks and all. Give me a break. The USPS is still a business that has to compete with competition. Why is Coke number one? Because they advertise themselves onto the top.
  10. Some of the answers on here are retarded. 1.Unions have nothing to do with the post office's debt. Since 2005 Congress ( Repuplian majority ) makes the post office put 5 billion dollars a year into a retirement health fund...something the post office AND the union have been trying to reverse since implemented. 2.The post office has NEVER received a bail out...EVER. 3.The post office is not run on tax payer money. 4.The post office has not substantially raised the price of stamps to match the current enviorment. It cost 96ยข to mail 1 first class letter in England compared to our 44 cents...
