Mailing out bussiness letters and postal rates?

Does anyone know if there are any cheaper options then buying stamps from the post office? Say I want to mail out 500-1000 letters, they would all be the same weight, what options do I have? I know that a bussiness I worked at before has done this but they all had to be the same weight but I do nt remember what they did or prices ect.

1. Businesses get a cheaper rate based on the amount of pre-sorting the mail that they send, but it usually involves mailing of thousands of pieces of mail. Another way to send leeters cheaper is for non-profit organizations. They have a postal permit, and send things at a cheaper, slower class of mail.
