USPS Change of Address OK to use for DMV Category D Documentation?

I live in IL and I want to change my address on my license. I received the change of address confirmation from USPS, can I uses this piece of mail as supporting documentation? Just trying to decide if I should go to the DMV today or wait until my utility bills start coming in. I already called the post office - they aren't 100% sure, and its Saturday so I can't call the secretary of state. Thanks for the answers but I know I can change my address without getting a new license, but I want a new I.D. so I can use it as proof of residency for various applications. I'll just go to the DMV when I start getting bills mailed.

  1. i think u need to let them no too
  2. I just moved and I went to the DMV and filled out one of their little address change cards. They said if I filled out their card, I didn't need to change the address on my license unless I wanted to pay to get a new one. That USPS confirmation should work if it is necessary in the first place
