Postal Letter

If the US Postal Service were reorganized, what level of population density would you deem acceptable?

to justify the presence of a Post Office in a given area? Using the map at the below URL, what level of population density do you think justifies having Post Office service in a given area? Keep in mind that private sector companies like UPS do not serve counties where the average population density is less than 150 people per square mile. B Question: If the US Postal Service is dissolved, do you live in an area that will be left without any kind of parcel delivery? www.census.gov/dmd/www/pdf/512popdn.pdf @ Roadrunner - basically what you're saying is that 50% of the country should not have access to a parcel delivery service.

  1. The Post Office is fine. Don't touch it, just repeal the law that requires they prefund pensions 75 years into the future.
  2. Services in a successful industry are dictated by resources (usually funding available) not need. Need based organization is a dead ringer for a Liberal working to drive a country or other organization bankrupt. I Ebay and also get a lot of stuff in the mail like wine and stuff from military exchange. It almost all comes UPS or Fed Ex. I've received things from China through Fed Ex that costed 2 dollars for them to send. I have often been turned down mailing things through the postal service due to contents like a book of antique matches. I had to mail it UPS. I am 8 miles out of town.
  3. there should not be any area without access to a Post Office
  4. They do have a lot of mean union workers there.
  5. I'm sorry that you are employed by the USPS. Now if you only actually WORKED for them.
