Postal jobs?
My mom said that Postal jobs are usually given to veterans of a war or other government officials. Is that true? There's a job listing in the paper for postal jobs and the pay is pretty good and i think i would enjoy the job, but im a 20yr old female so i dont know how good my chances would be at getting the job. Does anyone know what they look for when hiring? This job pays $17-28 hour and right now im only makign 10.50 so i was wanting to get a better paying job because now i have a car payment and i still want to save money

- you just have to pass a test. i took it and passed, mostly being able to discern sloppy handwriting and transposed numbers. but it's not an easy job. maybe behind the counter is good. but delivery? no! you have to show up very early and spend hours sorting mail, standing, and then drive or walk in all kinds of weather to deliver. $11-14/hr. also, if you notice who works there and delivers, it's never anyone young, they probably are veterans.
- I've heard that they start you on the night shift and it's hard to get day shift positions. I had a friend who "had connections" at the postal service and he got a day shift and absolutely loved the job!
