I need a help with postal job?
OK I seen this ad in PennySaver that says now Hiring Postal Jobs. Minimum wage $18 and no experience needed. I called it there and they asked me a few questions to see if I was eligible.Than they told me that I have to order a information package ,study it and follow the instruction. Because I will need to pass the exam on this info, before I can get hired. I was just wondering is this standard procedure before you can get postal job. I live in California by the way if it matters. They told to pay $99.50 for the package and $20 for the shipping. And that my money will be refunded if I dont pass the exam. Just let me know if this legimate procedure you have to do before getting hired?

- Make sure they offer psychiatric insurance. Jokes aside, if you have to pay, then it is most likely a scam. Just go to the post office website and apply.
- I would go into your post office and speak to someone working there before you doing anything. if I where you. don't spend money without asking, that is a lot of money. it seems like a lie.
- ok its a scam, all you need to do is go to the post offices web page, they have an employment section, go threw that. Then before you take the exam go to a book store and pick up the study guide for the test.
- yes
- NO NO NO...it's a scam...call the post office and ask them to send you a packet for FREE!!! they send you materials to study and you take a test given by them, not by anyone else.....they only give the test when they need a pool to hire from maybe twice a year. I took the exam and worked for the post office, been there done that..will never go back!
- Go to your public library and get free information, books and study materials. Ask the librarian for a book to help you study for the postal exam. Don't pay for it. It's free. Then check the federal employment website to see when and where the tests are being offered. They are free, too. All civil service jobs require a test. If you pass, it could be awhile before they call you. They go down the list from highest to lowest, so the better you score on the test, the faster you will be called for an interview. Good luck!
- I work for the Post Office..no that is not legitimate practice and if they are falsely advertising themselves as the Postal Service then yes you are being scammed. The best way to study for the Postal Exam is to go to the library and get the "ARCO" BOOKS on postal examinations and study them. The memorizations part on the exam scores big points for your final score. There are many tricks you can learn to memorize things such as words and names by associations which these books teach you. Save yourself the 99 + dollars and go to the library and ask the librarian where the examination test preparations books are. Or if you wish go to the bookstore and purchase your own book, they are usually in softcover . Also if you are serious about getting hired call the personell office and ask when the next exam is open to the public, and if you are a veteran ,they will open an exam for you ,just for veterans and you also get extra points added on to your examination score. Good luck with your endeavor.. So you want to be a mailman huh? :) Another way to get your foot in the door is to get hired as a part time "casual" they call them. They usually hire people around September for the Holiday period and you work for 3 months. You can network yourself and get all the information you need in that period to get a lock on a permanent postion. Many former "casuals" are now full time position employees of the U.S. Postal Service. Make sure you have a clean record, they do drug test you ,and make sure your driving record is clean also if applying for a letter carrier postion. Hope this helps Good luck !
- It's a scam! You're basically paying them to pull of information on post office website, usps.gov or the federal government's job listing at usajobs.com
- DO NOT FALL FOR THIS AD! Simply head over to the local post office and ask where to go for the testing. The prat ice test books you can check out at the library, or you buy at the book store . these books can be found in the test prep area. Also with any of these ads call the better business bureau .
