If you have a government job, like postal carrier, can you have a second form of occupation?
Can a postal carrier have a second job?
Public Comments
- Sure, but it will take up a lot of your time. Postal Carriers work from 6-5 (with overtime) so you'd be working a LOT!
- Whether its government or otherwise, you have to ask your superior for permission to 'moonlight' and work out an agreeable schedule. A management-level position in government probably would prevent you from having an outside job (to avoid a conflict of interest).
- I have a an internet product brokerage company; one of my business partners is a Postmaster - so the answer is "yes," you can find ways for a "plan B;" for supplemental income; to plan for your retirement.
