not getting a renewed Drivers License 30 days after the Temporary?

My License was stolen on Sept 6th. I applied for a new one on Sept 7th. It expires Oct 7th. I still have not gotten it yet. I told them to send it to the address that is on the license and not forward it. I went to the postal service and they said they did not forward it, and They told me it still probably at the place where they process the licenses. This in Montgomery Alabama. My dad told me that its taken longer to process some licenses because of some computer glitches and because of illegal immigrant issues. He thinks because mine was stolen and I had to get a new one it might take longer than the 30 days because they have to do a lot more inspecting and the 3 forms of id that I gave them did not have any pictures on it. One of my friends got his license renewed a week after mine and has already gotten his real one. He told me that some girls went to the DMV with expired temporary ones, because they had not gotten their real ones yet and had to pay for another temporary one I went to the DMV place today. I told the girl that back in Feb I went to the postal service and put down a change of address. I told her that with the License I never told them to specifically forward it to the other address. I went to the postal carrier place. The postman told me that if he did not forward it to the new address it would have gone to the old one. Not to the company. He told me that he had not seen anything regarding a drivers license. I've been told to just contact the main DMV in Montgomery to see it they are still processing or it if they are holding it because they don't know who to forward it to. I thought they would just issue me another temporary one with out paying for it. The girl just told me that cops could issue me a ticket for having an expired temporary one and not a real one. If I do get a ticket and have to go to municipal court how easy would it be to get out of paying for it. Its not my fault its not gotten to me yet. They need more than 30 days I did not give them the wrong address. The address on the license is the same one as the one that was stolen. It was my parents address. I move to another place in February. I did a change of address form at the post office. Even if it did not get forwarded to the other address it should have gotten to the address that is on the license. I went to the postal carrier place and both postman told me that they did not see any thing from the DMV to me and they did not forward anything. They told me that if should have gotten to the address that is on the license. I just have a feeling that its still in Montgomery being processes. I did not give them a wrong address

1. I'm not sure, even after reading it several times, but it appears the address on your license and your real address are two different things. No, they will not forward a license, they will return it. Straighten out your address situation first, then start over. Added: and just why would it not be your fault that you gave them a bad address? Yes, you will have to pay again. Yes, if you get a ticket a fine will go with it.
