United states postal service?

Is it possible to get a post office box in another state without appearing there in person? Would the post office forward that mail to me at another address?

1. no, not from the US Post office, but from the other PO Box services..the US Post office checks your actual address....I don't know why...but here in Florida they did....but you always can rent POB anywhere in the US and don't have to be present...
2. no, the US post office will not rent you a box if you are not living or have a office in that area. And no the US post office does not forward mail from one box to another. ( unless you close the box and move) You may want to check out private box companies, they will do those services for you
