How do i pitch an idea to the U.S. Government?

I just made a piece of clothing, which the functionality is a major factor. It is a piece that is meant for United States Postal Services. How would i go about pitching this piece of clothing so that it can be a government issuance and be sold in uniform stores?

  1. Why not make some real money and pitch it to UPS, FED Ex, and other private companies and help reduce the size of government and taxes and corruption.
  2. Penetrating the layers of federal bureaucracy is nearly impossible. Start with the website. Send letters to department heads. Chances are, unless it is some sort of 007 thing that repels dogs and rain...I don't know what chance you have. Please, tell me it isn't some sort of thong bikini or something? I wouldn't want to see my mailman in that!
  3. Wrap a brick with paper that has your idea on it. Throw that brick through a window at patent office. That'll get you some attention. Or call local news station.
  4. Don't think in terms of "U.S. Government"- think in terms of the specific agency, and the department of that agency, that might be interested. Then, identify the person that makes decisions or makes purchases, of the kind of products you are dealing with. Then, you will likely find that you need to contact the companies who make products for that agency, and pitch the idea to them. The trick is to find the specific niche that needs the item, and spread out from there. If you try for some overall government approval, you will be frustrated for years.
  5. Try making a paper plane and throw it at them with the messge on it. Then send it by air mail . To the nearest representatives. When they were putting their legs on the table. Sitting down throwing darts. They have so much time dreaming how to be "A dirty old men"
