How much are US postal stamps now and when did they go up?

1. they're 39 cents now, i don't remember when it went up but it was around the beginning of the year this year
2. i think they went up in january. i also read an news blip about another 3-cent increase. they want to make stamps 42 cents in 2007.
3. 39 cents currently and last month the postal service put in for a rate increase for the beginning of next year - if approved a stamp would cost 42 cents.
