Help! US Postal Service and change of address problems?

A month before I moved out of my apartment I put a change of address in. It went through - it took $1 out of my bank account. It's supposed to take 7-10 days from the time you submit it for them to process it so they should have had it processed and all ready to go before I even moved out. I'm not getting ANY mail forwarded to me and in the mail is a check for me for $1000 which I desperately need and I just can't wait 3 months for the check (who knows where it is now) to void and have the company that I worked for send me a new one straight to my NEW address. I have bills to pay and I could REALLY use the money and I'm so pissed at the USPS right now. Will calling them and complaining do ANYTHING?

  1. I would call the town where you moved from. Call the post office there and talk to a supervisor. They can look up your change on the computer to make sure it is in the system. I would do that for sure. did u move to another town? If so call that post office also and let them know u r there. I am a clerk.
  2. If the company had "do not forward" printed on the envelope, the USPS did exactly what they were supposed to do. Most of the time envelopes containing checks have this printed on the front under the return addess. If this is the case, complaining to the USPS will get you no where.
