When you submit a change of address form with the US postal service is all mail forwarded including 3rd class,

bulk mail, magazines, newspapers and advertisements? Can I opt for only first class mail to be forwarded?

1. No only 1st class mail..the rest is tossed into the trash...so to speak.
2. First class mail will be forwarded for one year. Periodicals will be forwarded for 60 days. "Standard" (junk) mail will be discarded unless the mailer put instructions like "Forwarding Service Requested" on it. Tip: if you mark the address change as "temporary" and lasting 1 year, then you won't get on the "recently moved" mailing list that the Postal Service sells (called a "Welcome Kit"), but will still get the same 1 year forwarding that you would get anyway.
