Postal Letter

Why does the USPS zip code finder page have a square to enter a zip code?

No, it does not give a reverse lookup for a zip code or any other information about a zip code!

  1. Suppose you know the zip code but not the city or town it is in. Type that into the box and presto! You got the place you need.
  2. because sometimes you want the ZIP + 4 not just the ZIP - and typing 5 numbers is easier than spelling Iandianapolis
  3. Probably because it does reverse lookups as well. In other words, you can determine location from a zip code.
  4. Well, it's also a post office locator, which I use a lot :-) If you put only a zip, it will show you the nearest post offices for that zip code.
