Postal Letter

How do you send mail when you have a mail slot in your door?

I don't have a mailbox, only a mail slot, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to send mail. I've tried sticking my mail in the slot, but the mail lady never picks it up, and I always find my outgoing mail on the floor with my incoming mail. Anyone know what I should do? I obviously know that taking it to the Post Office is a way to mail it, but I'm trying to find another solution since the post office is out of my way going to school/work.

  1. take it to the post office!!!!!!! DUH
  2. well I have a mailbox but I don't put the mail in the mailbox for the lady to pick it up I just go to the post office and drop it off there
  3. take it and put it in that big blue box in front of the post office. i relly don'y know wat it's called.
  4. take it to nearest post office or post Box.. very simple
  5. it's called a mailbox...usually found on corners
  6. Unfortunately you'll have to drop your mail in one of the blue post office receptacles.
  7. Secure a clip type clothespin above the slot and use it to hold outgoing mail.
  8. No one picks up my mail either. You have to either walk around and drop it in a mailbox or go to the post office and have them mail it for you.
  9. Maybe if you have a post box somewhere in your neighborhood, just walk to it and slide in the letter. If not, drive to the post office and put it in a post box there.
  10. A good way to check the efficiency of the postal service is to send some mail to yourself. Put your address on an envelope, and pop out through your mail slot! I think you may be pleasantly surprised on how quickly it arrives. Let me know how it goes darling.
  11. nail a clothes pin by your slot and pin your outgoing mail there
  12. You could talk to the Post Office Lady and ask her the procedure, she'll probably know. You could get a mailbox to make it easier. Or you could bring it to the Post Office. Oh, OR you could drop it into another person's mail box!
  13. School or Work a mailman must deliver there, Just put your mail with their outgoing Problem solved
  14. Try contacting the Post Office and ask if there is a mailbox or a postal outlet in your area you can drop your mail off.
  15. The next time the mailman/woman is at your door, catch 'em and talk to them. Ask them if they will pick your mail if you leave it clipped outside or something. If that's not an option, ask them for the nearest place where you can go. Another option: ask a neighbour. Another option: if you are married, maybe your hubby can mail it from work? or you can mail it from work if you are working.
