Why does my yahoo mail never say the correct number of mail in box?

Sometimes it says 30 mail and there is no mail. Sometimes it says no mail and there is mail. It never says the correct amount of mail in box. Why? What can I do to fix this? I am asking in this section because hardly anyone answers in the yahoo products section.

6. That's pretty odd.. I don't have that issue. Try deleting all your cookies and clearing you history on your web browser. If not, then.. I don't know.
7. R U havin' any filter adjusted ? It can fall to a file.
8. this is a network error no ways to change so u reinstall software i think solve ur problem

10. Yahoo is confusing like that. I am not sure the reason but contacting Yahoo Mail does not help. All I can suggest for you is to click on tools and delete your cookies and see if it work: http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=2 (click here for instructions). But to be honest with you, I suggest you find another mail service like GMX.com (You get 5gb mail).
11. Mine doesn't work either, not on the toolbar or on my Yahoo! homepage. The only thing that seems to work right is if I am logged in to messenger and it notifies me.
